Teacher has been charged with sexual contact of a juvenile and requesting to kill her husband

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Kentucky State Police arrested Elena Bardin (pictured), 27, of Columbia, Kentucky, according to authorities.
It is reported that on March 27, the Adair Juvenile Detention Center told the police they had conducted a routine search of juveniles’ living units, where letters and explicit material were found in a male juvenile’s possession that were sent by an Adair County school teacher assigned to the facility.
The detention center immediately confiscated the material and contacted KSP Post 15, where detectives found evidence that Bardin subjected the boy to illegal sexual contact, provided him with explicit images of herself and solicited him to kill her husband, according KSP.
Bardin is lodged in the Adair County Detention Center on the following charges: Murder (Solicitation), Sexual Abuse - 1st Degree, Distribution of Obscene Matter to a Minor - 1st Offense.
She is currently being held without bond. No court date has been set at Adair District Court.
All are considered innocent till guilty in a court of law.
