SAME NAME DIFFERENT COUNTY: Man found with nearly 30 grams of cocaine during Lee County traffic stop, deputies say

SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is facing 17 drug charges following a traffic stop in Lee County Wednesday, deputies said.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Dex detected the presence of narcotics in the vehicle during the traffic stop.
Deputies said they found 58 bags of crack cocaine that weighed 28.5 grams. Trafficking amounts of oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen oxycodone were also found, along with Xanax, alprazolam, and dextroamphetamine.
Ray Anthony McDougald, 67, was arrested following the search, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said McDougald is charged with:
- Trafficking cocaine by transport
- Trafficking cocaine by possession
- Trafficking opioid by transport (oxycodone hydrochloride)
- Trafficking opioid by possession (oxycodone hydrochloride)
- Trafficking opioid by transport (acetaminophen oxycodone)
- Trafficking opioid by possession (acetaminophen oxycodone)
- Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine)
- Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance (oxycodone hydrochloride)
- Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance (acetaminophen hydrochloride)
- Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance (dextroamphetamine)
- Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax)
- Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule IV controlled substance (alprazolam) (three counts)
- Simple possession of Schedule II controlled substance (oxycodone hydrochloride)
- Maintaining a vehicle for sale of controlled substance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the sheriff’s office, McDougald was given $375,000 secured bond.
