Montgomery County Diesel Thief Also a Suspect in a Washington State Murder Case

In March, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Dariel Nunez Montero, 31, and two men from Louisville, after an investigation into a large-scale diesel fuel theft operation resulted in a loss of over $18,000, according to authorities.

The Montogemery County Sheriff’s Office learned that Montero was a suspect in a state of Washington murder that left a 31-year-old woman dead from cut wounds in her neck as the Washington Medical Examiners records indicated. The homicide had happened in early November when Courtney Clinton was found dead inside a car along with her 1-year-old son, who was unharmed.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office coordinated with the Vancouver Police Department were able to secure a search warrant that allowed Washington Police Investigators to recover critical evidence.

Montero is charged with murder and is awaiting extradition back to Washington County, according to authorities.


All are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
